: own mind creates--something you think up that doesn't
: exist. The illusions of the Baron and Fenris, for
: instance, would only have been "chimeras" if
: the Baron and Fenris had spontaneously hallucinated
: them. It was clear what they intended
: "chimera" to mean in the
: game--"illusion" and "something
: involving or characterized by illusions"--but it
: was still a bad use of the word.
Ok, this is some major nitpicking. Just because Kyrilla says her whole life has been an illusion, doesn't mean she literally her entire life. (Only someone who tries to prove he's not wrong would suggest that...)
It may be an unecessary exaggeration, but it's still a proper use of word.
And (ahem) what happened to the "hybrid", eh? I thought chimera was a hybrid in the English language and nothing else, you botanist, you.
