"THE FORGE
Monday April 27, Tharsis
Soulblighter has done the unthinkable. With his army scattered in disarray, he fled up through the Eye of Tharsis and into the very bowels of the earth. I can hardly blame him. The sight of Alric hacking his way through the enemy, Balmung flashing in his hand, caused many of our own men to stand aside in awe.
If it were anyone other than Soulblighter, I am sure we would just wait outside the volcano until they had been roasted alive or had succumbed to the poisonous vapors. Unfortunately, he has survived worse, and we must follow him. "
-from the journal of Myth 2
1. Nothing mentioned about Balmung being broken, in fact, Balmung was utilized in The Forge, however, it's lightning powers were not. Please note that Alric remained immune to lightning throughout The Forge sequence. This was because he had Balmung which makes him immune.
2. Soulblighter "betrayed" all. Why? Because he broke the Cycle of Life. He attacked during an age that was supposed to be dedicated to peace, due to the fact that Balor (The Levelor) was vanquished.
3. The story that was written by me has nothing to do with the Epilogue written after The Forge.(though some of the info included in the story was taken from the analysis writen in The Forge) My Guild's story was written, as a "what if" Alric had not succeeded in stopping SoulBlighter from destroying Myth World. Therefore, I feel the story is plausible, just as a "what if."
4. The story, like Zan said, was written for my Guild. It was written as a history of my Guild for the game ShadowBane. The members of the guild are all Mythers that wanted to retain their Myth identity. I spent many, many hours researching the story, and I wrote it with any and all changes I deamed necessary to maintain my guilds identity in ShadowBane.
BTW, Thank You for taking the time to read the story. I hope you had at least a little bit of fun reading it, because I had a lot of fun writing it.
