Or, Connacht dies, SB, after being corrupted by spending years in the East, ressurects him, evil about 300 BMI. And about 50 BMI the Leveller posseses him and he finally has the power to defeat Muirthemne.
Or he uses the Sunhammer on Muirthemne, after having just found it, it is destroyed in the process, so he can't use it again. Around the same time as teh hero, Alric is born, the Leveller posseses him, and he has the power to strike at the Province without aid of Magical items.
This makes sense of the time difference of about 300 years between the apparent arrival of the Leveller and Alrics birth.
