Connacht described to them an ancient device that was capable of sweeping away and imprisoning whole groups of foes. The smiths could make such a device, but not without the mighty Unkarak Tomen, the Dwarven book of building, held within the great forge of Myrgard. "

Judging by Myth I and II, The Tain is ONE single artifact. It was not some kind of thing you could just go out and with a fancy Dwarven book and a lot of trial and error create your very own interdimentional prison!
Seriously tha Tain is like the Ibis Crown, i.e, one of a kind.
Presumably copies could be made (just like the Ibis Crown had 11 ordinary copies made) but you could not just go out and build one. It destroys the whole magic relic thing about the Tain for it to be so blatantly idioticly refered as "a Tain" as if it could be mass produced.
