No, Soulblighter tried to force the cycle, and Alric stopped him. Alric should be congratulated by the dieties, and Soulblighter should be punished by them (the latter is said in the epilogue too).
But I see what you could also mean; you were referring to Balor's destruction before schedule. Who knows about that, though... that's a totally different monster altogether.
