In Response To: Re: Settling the Canon Debate (Seraph)

: well, besides the blatant errors that the game disproves.

Besides those, how can we know what's his imagination if it isn't obvious?

: I think that anything not contradicted by the in game
: stuff, that was pre-game or something, is canon.

That's partly where the issue lies. If you think that all prerelease info that isn't contradicted by the game is canon, and I think it is pseudocanon, we'll both have to wait for something concrete to come along.

: It is possible that means that the saivor hero and the
: destroyer/leveller are the same person, but I agree
: that that doesn't make sense.

But that isn't even possible because it is disproved in the epilogue. Thankfully.

: '...many of these heroes were doomed to return in the
: following age, destroying all they had fought so hard
: to perserve."

That refers to the Fallen Lords who were turned from the Light. You can stretch that quote to include the bodies of people like Connacht and Tireces, but it does not mean the Leveler can ever be a hero since that is proven wrong in the epilogue.

: Martel said the reason Connacht says this is
: "a" tain is because he is an ignorant
: barbarain. Yes, he is. But MJ is also made up of
: ignorant barbarians, because in order to get
: "a" tain, Connacht merely has to get them a
: magical artifacts book for dumbies.
: (okay they give it a fancy name, but that's not the
: point)

Connacht calling the Tain "a Tain" is an obvious example of a mistake in TWA.

: Basically, they assume you can just "build a
: Tain" which is total nonsense. It would be like
: Rabican going out and forging a "Balmung".
: The Tain is a unique item, and although more can
: probably be made, it would be EXTREMELY hard.

I agree... you'd be hard pressed to find someone (or a group of people for that matter) who could duplicate something like that. Unless they've been sitting around for the past sixty years doing nothing :)
