You seem to forget the degree to which the Trow respect people who can defeat them in battle. Heck, look at Balor. As for the Deciever's need to lie to his men, there's a thing called morale to bear in mind. The Deciever realises all too well that your average berserker understands the Trow mindset far less well than he does, and realises that a few little lies will work to the group's benefit overall.
