In Response To: Re: Myth III: The Contradiction (Once more) (Martel)

: There's two possible interpretations to this: 1) The
: Deciever was lying. That's why he's called "The
: Deciever". It wouldn't exactly have done the
: men's morale much good if he'd said something like
: "Sure, the Trow probably hate my guts because I
: triggered a major rebellion which was probably the
: single largest step towards the collapse of their
: empire, but I think they'll respect me for it."
: 2) In the "With Friends Like These" blurb, the
: Big D talks of "Their battles against the
: Myrkrydia". I believe that "their"
: means the Trow's, NOT the Trow and the Deciever's. And
: this makes sense: the Trow are only seen actually
: aiding Moagim's forces very late in the war (bearing
: in mind that the war has been going on for nearly a
: millenium), and are never seen fighting alongside the
: Myrkrydia.

: And that's a contradiction how? Most people have reasons
: for giving certain names to ages, and the fact that we
: aren't told this reasoning in the first two Myth
: titles doesn't make it any less valid.

: CONNAUGHT: "HMM, now that Moagim's gone, we'll need
: a new name for the age, something upbeat, something to
: take pride in... how about the Wolf Age?"
: IMPERIAL ADVISOR: "The Wolf Age, sire? But nobody
: likes wolves! Now, the Fruitbat Age, that sounds much
: more positive..."

: Au contraire. Myth TFL tells us that the Tain was carried
: off by raiding barbarians from the South. Myth3 does
: not contradict this, but does tell us why the interior
: of the Tain is swarming with spiders.

Some comments

I agree. The ******* probably was lying.

I agree. The Trow and the Myrkridia aren't likely to be good friends at best.

I think that the only reasonable explantion for the Wolf Age being called that. Unless there is some secert bungie reasoning for it...

The Fruitbat Age? LOL
makes sense that Connacht would do that.

Judging by Myth III the Tain and other magical items are hidden by Damas (the grand ending cutscreen thingy)
