Igwos that there are spoilers in here, folks!
: That was magic dragonfly thing. It might have impaled him
: but... it didn't eat him exactly. More like grabbed
: him in its mouth and took him off for
: "re-conditioning." :)
Not that this means anything significant, but the "thousand fiery snakes" were different monsters; they were called from the night by the Lady (p 185) which then ".... covered his body. They slithered into his mouth and nose, into his eyes and ears. They went in the easy way and came gnawing out through his back and chest and belly. And he screamed. And screamed. And screamed...." After the Lady got bored because the Limper was so durable that he wouldn't die, she called them away, wove a cocoon around him, and then the dragonfly came to assist in the "re-conditioning", which btw is an awesome term for what probably happened to the guy afterwards. :)
: Croaker was completely shocked when he saw him at Charm.
Lol I'd foul myself seeing that guy again.
: Eh, I left that one out. I loved that ambush. :D
I figure you didn't leave it out, though, when you listed "Chopped up". Because that's kind of what happened in the ambush. Also you mentioned "Arrowed in the head and body"; that also covers the ambush when he was arrowed-through with the ballista bolt 2x.
: You're not the only one who feels this way. Thing is, TSS
: was written to fill in some gaps during The White Rose
: and *between* TWR and Shadow Games.
Yes; if I had to pick the weakest of the whole series so far, it would be tough because they're all great reads. Bleak Seasons is weakest when it comes to read-ability, it's not as fast paced and coherent as any others. TSS is weakest when it comes to plot. The rest don't suffer from any major flaws imo.
: It was also a bad idea to just leave Catcher's
: head-cleaved corpse behind after the Battle at Charm
: but.. ah well. Live and learn. :)
Heh yeah, I bet if Croaker knew that that didn't finish her, he'd have been more careful before he booted the Limper's head into the ditch, during the Barrowland battle. Both could survive headless!
