Actually, i'm very sure it was said at some point in myth 1 or 2 that damas destroyed what artifacts of power he coudl and hid the rest.
Either when we were introduced to tthe tain or the total codex...
Recall, the codex is inside of a stone tomblike thing, inside of a building (or the ruins of ones). Actually, apparently buried beneath a building. In covenant, which is a ghost town. Seems like it was hidden there to me. And who was eerily close by when we made our escape? Soulblighter. So he knew it was around there somewhere. Just hadn't remember exactly where he put it yet.
