: And i believe it was Welly that mentioned that the root
: doesnt kill soulblighter, merely causes him to
: flee-this is not entirely correct.
: True, it didn't kill soulblighter, but it almost did.
: Watch his health as he is healed-it drops quite
: quickly. Mandrakes also incapacitate those they are
: used on, be they friend or foe. All soulblighters
: power could do against it was break the hold it had on
: him, therefore managing to flee from the journeyman.
Like you said, healing incapacitates its victim, and we can see that it does so totally. The healing stops once it runs through its cycle or is interrupted by an outside force. The subject of the healing cannot do anything but remain incapacitated until it, like mentioned, runs its course or is interrupted by an outside force, like a molotov.
With that established, check out what happens when you heal SB. His life declines just like a Thrall's. But! Once it runs its course, Soulblighter is still alive. Just weakened, because his magicks have been nastied. So he flees.
Notice that once the healing runs its course, a Soulless or a Thrall would be dead. However SB was not. And like we agreed upon, the subject of healing is incapacitated. It cannot therefore be Soulblighter's power that stops the healing. The healing itself ran its course. And he was still around.
: I just think that theres more to these journeymen than
: meets the eye-theres so few of them around :)
They're excellent, ageless fighters and preservers of a great empire. Sure there might be a few unknown things, but these are the good guys, with no apparent need to keep secrets like some dark mage who hoards knowledge. Remember that old Jman that jabbered to everyone about the whole order of the universe?
