There was once a discussion about this on a Glen Cook LISTSERV -- the consensus was that it applies to all wizards. And hey, Goblin and One-Eye weren't too shabby... they were pretty good at fending off Shadowspinner's seige a while at Dejagore. :)

Oh yeah... I took that to mean she spoke all their true names immediately so as to safeguard herself. How pissed at Lady would you be if you had been kidnapped, mind-raped, and taken? :)

Yeah, I remember distinctly one scene were Cook details their movement around the alien sapling into which the spike was inserted... he described their floating movements as they completed semicircles around the tree, testing its properties.
