Things aren't fair all the time, but they're just protecting their metaserver.
Send them an email with an explanation. Tell them some of your new buds at the Asylum Forum would vouch for you if necessary. Of course I don't speak for 100% everyone here, but you can tell them I would do so, even despite the fact that you called an old timer "blind to reason and logic" :)
Just don't send them the addy I have listed here, I sent them a private one when I registered for the same reason you can't register.
