The idea of them being created from the earth does have merit, it does re-use materiel that already existed, so...yes I could see it happening. How-ever I don't really believe it because I would be un-fair.
Most people would say, "what does fair have to do with war"? Well normally it has nothing to do with it but remember this is not just a war, it is a cycle of destruction that happens every 1000 years and was/is probably started and overseen by the gods of the myth universe.(heh, that is the biggest run on sentence I have ever seen, my English teachers would be proud) So for what ever reason they started the cycle the most effective way to keep it going would be to make certain rules, one of which would be that neither side could create new species from nothing or even basic elements like earth. That would keep things in balance and assure that the cycle would continue un-abated for all time.
That's my idea, what do yall think?
