Let's see, this story would probably take place about a generation before the Journal Writer, so I don't think enough time has passed for it to be forgotten.

Unless the Journal Writer is a peasant with no knowledge of the recent past (as far as the War goes)
but even then, his father would probably have served in the Legions back then (at least, there is a chance of this)

still, I don't know. I'll make up my mind when an oppurtunity comes up in which it would change things (a member of the Nine would have a lot more influence over Caliban then someone who wasn't)
