: In a defensive position, spears and pikes are deadly, no
: matter who you're facing. Why do you think the Greek
: City States, the vast bulk of whose armies were
: infantrymen, used spears as their primary weapons?
: There's not many who'll be saying much after you hit
: them with a halberd for that matter either.
: One word: Outflanking. The doom of both Legion and
: Phalanx.
Phalanxs were defeated by the Roman Legions. Screw needing cavalry to whip them.
Legions...well I know that ultimately they were defeated. But outflanking someone requires they have unprotected flanks. That's a tactics thing, not unit thing.
But in the Myth world the MAIN enemy is undead...unless there is a lot of fighting between factions (we only really know about the Province and the Cath Bruig Empire)
So it really depends.
: I'm not going to bother trying to argue, since you're
: obviously about as stubborn as I am.
I take that as a compliment.
: Probably a factor of game balance. Molotov cocktails
: should be a lot less reliable too.
: See comments regarding GURPS.
: Martel.
Well, should we "agree to disagree" or just drop this because it really isn't going anywhere, and both of us are too stuborn to quit if it gets vicious.
