exactly. If he killed Mazzarin, he should have had no problem with alric OR the deceiver. Though I'm very confident that the deceiver is an extroadinarily powerful individual, i think his powers were of a different nature than the watchers, and combat-wise the watcher (pre-imprisonment) was THE force to be reckoned. Like a combination of Soulblighters fighting skills and Shivers battle-magery.
