Actually, when Take Two got the rights to the title, they also got the rights to the story. If they felt the need, they could've gone back and contradicted stuff Bungie did. Whether or not we want to support that is our choice. Frankly, I don't support the MJ stuff so much, but that doesn't mean it isn't canon for the purposes of arguments.

I think Archer published a list with this same purpose, which I'd agree with. However, I'd say GURPS and M3 fit above most other 'lesser canon'.

Nothing else. Something made by Creation, no matter how good, isn't canon because it wasn't endorsed by the game's creators. The exception to the rule is Badlands' Chimera, because it *WAS* endorsed.
