: Artistically I'm going to take a few examples
: 1:Star Trek, does any of the episodes (series') made
: after Gene Rodenberry's death make those episodes any
: less Star Trek.
What Zan said.
: 2.Star Wars the Empire strikes back was not totally
: written by Lucas, it mainly written by someone else.
No but they wrote it together so he could say, "That's not in my story, change it to this"
: 3.The massive History of MiddleEarth books written by
: Christopher Tolkien, are the any less Lord of the
: Rings Canon.
Chris wrote it from his father's notes. They were extensive and vast and detailed and huge and big and...you get the picture.
: Perhaps this is what Bunige intended all along (Okay
: thats really far fetched but hey) They had acces to
: bungie concept work, they may have changed it less
: than you think.
Bungie's notes were: "Children who save the world are lame" and such stuff written on a pizza box! They did not have extensive notes. They just wrote it and discussed and threw out their working. MJ hardly got naything from Bungie. Scott Cambell wrote the story himself based on what he thought it should be. They changed it quite a lot.
: On Myth IV which would you prefer, a group of fans doing
: another version ala Mumbo Jumbo style, or a Microsoft
: controlled Bungie, where the game is released on the
: X-Box. on PC a year later and Mac 2 Years Later?
The latter actually. The Microsoft control is nothing. It just means they get the money from Bungie's work. In return Bungie get the marketing might of Microsoft, freedom to work independantly and a lot of financial support. Oh and a great development platform. And frankly, I really don't care about the wait.
