: Well it was interesting to see public opinion, and I'm
: not going to argue with your opinions.
: However Seraph has made 3 plot errors, so i fell I should
: point them out.
: 1:Myrdred was on the Warlocks Good side because he was on
: Mjarin (their leaders) side.
That's Myth III info. I don't agree with Myth III= canon.
: 2:SB did that ritual because he no longer qualified for
: HG immortality
BUT what made him evil in the first place, and also, Heron Guards are the next closest thing to incorruptable.
: 3:Gower was not a full nation, it was reduced to small
: towns, of which Yürsgard was the only remaining town
: that was big enought to be classified as a town.
That I will admit to having screwed up on. The others are opinions.
: Finally on the matter of Myth III canon i'll take 2
: viewpoints 1 legally, Legaly Take 2 decides what is
: canon thus Myth III is canon.
Legally my buttt...
: Artistically I'm going to take a few examples
: 1:Star Trek, does any of the episodes (series') made
: after Gene Rodenberry's death make those episodes any
: less Star Trek.
I wouldn't know, I'm not a Star Trek fan.
: 2.Star Wars the Empire strikes back was not totally
: written by Lucas, it mainly written by someone else.
Not as Star Wars fan, so I don't know.
: 3.The massive History of MiddleEarth books written by
: Christopher Tolkien, are the any less Lord of the
: Rings Canon.
Christopher Tolkien was the son of J.R.R. Tolkien, I'm pretty confident he knew the kind of stuff to put in them from his dad.
: Perhaps this is what Bunige intended all along (Okay
: thats really far fetched but hey) They had acces to
: bungie concept work, they may have changed it less
: than you think.
If that's true I hope that bunige was drunk or something out it's minds...wait, my biggest objection to Myth III is the style, not the actual story (which is okay)
: On Myth IV which would you prefer, a group of fans doing
: another version ala Mumbo Jumbo style, or a Microsoft
: controlled Bungie, where the game is released on the
: X-Box. on PC a year later and Mac 2 Years Later?
: -zeph
It would depend on if Mumbo Jumbo style fans did it well.
Here's my opinion on what should be Canon
Although, I'm betting my soul at least one person will find something wrong with my thinking. Which is alright...
Anything done using the information of the orginal (Myth I and II here) even if technically done by someone else and more important
done in the way the author/producer/whatever would have done.
Allowing of course, certain margins for creativity.
Like the journal fan fiction stuff, that's not canon but it is close enough to the journal entries that it mets the done in the way the author would have done.
But unless this debate is going to stay on Myth III, I'm ignoring this thread short of dire boredom, because I don't want to discuss what is canon and what is not.
Of course ignoring if it's true or not, Myth III does not have the same feel with someone reading old history texts. (I love history books)
We feel (or I don't) any personal reason to care on a personal level with the common soldiers. (Which is okay, but we got that kind of feeling with the first 2 and I'd like to keep it)
