Take Two does. Mumbo Jumbo just won a license to those rights to make Myth III. Not sure what the stipulations on their Myth IV was, whether they have guaranteed rights to that or if it's dependant on M3 sales...
But it doesn't really matter anymore, since Mumbo Jumbo no longer exists except in name and an excecutive or two. Oh, and some porting office in Dallas. That none of you have ever heard of.
So, knowing Take Two business practices, you could write a Myth IV plot that completely supercedes everything in the M3 plot and they wouldn't even notice (or care), so long as it stood to make them a little money in the short run. Of course they'd fire you as soon as you were done and release your product unfinished, unless you're some sort of miracle developer who can snap his fingers and produce games out of thin air.
