3. The Deceiver has had one death, just like everyone else who wasn't a god reincarnated: when he exploded in "Shiver". He wasn't killed after the great war despite the ignorant zerks' conversation: the narrator contradicts this totally and completely by saying that he clung to life by sorcery alone. Again, I see this as in support of my side when I say that magic can be used as a life-sustaining and life-preserving device.
My whole side depends on looking at an uncertain thing in a particular way, so long as that way isn't contradicted plainly in-game.. which I believe it not to be. Very much like the rest of the hypotheses posted here, I would say. Of course it's open to amendment, so fire away!
