Nah, we didn't have a forum back when I first worked here...

I really like to tell this story, but it's late so I'll summarize.

Hamish Sinclair and Matthew Lewis Caroll Smith (poena.dare) founded the Journal of the Legion section of Joshstar's Myth for Macs.

Orange (Josh) and Lacrymosa (Dan) founded separate pages entitled The Myth Story Page, and later merged into one. This is where I came in, reading and submitting to this merged page.

From that page I discovered the Journal of the Legion at what was now Joshstar's 100% Non-Toxic Myth... which was down, being transformed into the new Legends and Lore section.

I made friends with the people running Nontoxic back then, and introduced them to my friends Josh & Dan. I suggested that the content and crew of the two sites be rolled together into the new Legend and Lore. They eventually concurred, the merger process went under way, and lots of people did lots of stuff, including myself, who had joined the crew. By the time the new subsite Legends was done, everybody else had left the project for "smaller and better things" (as Josh put it), and I was left running the thing. From there, I got to be a newsie on the front page too, and started expanding off into my own little subpage in the Strategy section, something I called "Myth Master Central"...

Then Nontoxic.org died, and Myth Nontoxic with it.

Meanwhile on IRC EFnet, I and several other people had grown tired of the crap that went on in the two bungie channels #marathon and #myth, and myself and Matt "Ballade" Payne decided it would be nice to start a new channel, #bungie. We got veteran Marathon guy Steve Campell to hold the channel with his army of evil robots... or something like that... and #bungie was born. It gathered unto it all the Bungie community greats, figures such as Hamish Sinclair and Gary Simmons, and countless others. Those three named - Steve, Hamish, and Gary - eventually founded a new website network in the same spirit as #bungie had been founded. Bungie.org, the new unified epicenter of Bungie fandom. Except their Myth page sucked.

I saw an obvious solution... my old buddy Steve was looking for a better Myth site to host, and Joshstar was looking for somebody to host his great old Myth site. I introduced the two. For reasons I can no longer recall, I was afk for a month or three, and when I came back the old B.org myth staff were running Nontoxic as Myth@Bungie.org (with some improvements, like these forums, which had been suggested WAY back when Legends was first being designed), and Joshstar had vanished. I pleaded my way back in to writing articles for the Legends section, as I had before...

Eventually I got FTP privs to upload the stuff myself... then news privs to announce it on the front page... then a credit on the footer, my own email address, full FTP access... meanwhile half the senior staff, Sean (ig-98), had been forced out and I took his place on the throne. Many temps had come and gone, many changed had been made (Articles was rolled into Misc, Mythmaster grew to replace Strategy, we partnered with the Mill...) and finally, around the time of the merger, even Pie-Rat (the other senior staffer) had left. So I was the one running the show. Now I am your god! MUAHAHAHAHA!

Except I'm bored and have like no time to waste, so I hired a bunch of lackies to do my evil bidding for me. Speaking of time, I have to get up and go to work in 7 hours, so maybe I should stop talking now...

(As an intersting aside, if you count the prehistory of this site all the way back to Joshstar's Myth for Macs, we are by far the oldest Myth site still alive on the net. I don't even think any other current sites date from the TFL era...).
