Of course it isn't perfectly medievil. Although there are a lot of similarities, there were no dwarves, trow, etc.; there were no magical items and (afaik) no molotov cocktails. While you could (quite reasonably) argue that I'm nitpicking, if you're going to compare the small details such as city size and popularity of calvalry, you can't really ignore the really big details such as magic and different species.
