I have to agree that Myth III is a mess.
Myth III if it was judged in it's own right is between a 3 and a 4 star rating, perhaps higher if graphics get big points. (I'm more then happy with Myth II's graphics, and have no real problem with Myth TFL in this sense)
But as part of the series, IT SUCKS.
In Myth I, the story is utterly staggering with the grim epic saga :
"In a time long past the armies of the Dark invaded the lands of Men. Their leaders became known as the Fallen Lords as the Fallen Lords and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the West.
In thirty years they reduced the civilized nations to carrion and ash and only the free city of Madrigal defied them.
An army gathered there and a desperate battle was joined against the Fallen.
Heroes were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds shall never be forgetten."
NOTHING in Myth III comes even close to this.
NOTHING.
NIL
NAUGHT
NADA
ZILCH
SQUAT
Etc..
Although as I said, it is fine judged on its own, it does not live up to the traditions of the first two games.
I believe that if either Bungie or us Asylumers had done the storyline it would be much better.
