in myth 3 they did not exterminate all of the myrkridia they still lived deep in the wilderness
so perhaps if the journal writer's grandfather was like... 95 years old when the journal writer was .... 6 or 7
and maybe the grandfather was remembering really vivid descriptions from HIS grandfather... but it does seem to be first hand experience
