: Have you ever read "Bill the Galactic Hero" by
: Harry Harrison? For the first half of the book, the
: alien adversaries, the Chingers, a race of four armed
: lizards, are depicted as basically that. Halfway
: through the book you find out that they're actually
: six inches tall, have a sardonic sense of humour, and
: are desperately trying to protect their worlds from
: human expansion. I'm not saying that's the case for
: the Myrkrydia, I'm just saying that there's two sides
: to every story: which is almost certainly true in the
: case of the Ghols. "Ender's Game" is good
: too if you like that sort of thing.
Well, I'm pretty sure that eating everyone until your entire race is dead rules them out as being nice people with their own reasonable point of view: "Well, we we just started snacking, and it kinda took off from there...but I can quit anytime I want, honest."
Besides, Connacht didn't kill their race directly, he imprisoned them in the Tain. And the bre'Unor aren't wiping out everyone in their path, are they?
: GURPS tells us...GURPS tells us
You make too many assumptions based on the doubtful sources of GURPS.
: To the best of my knowledge, neither Moagim, Soulblighter
: of the Watcher ever totally wiped out a race. And
: Balor only did so while he was Connaught. Ironic, huh?
Because they were stopped as poeple thought thta wiping out races was, and still is, A Nasty Thing.
The basic concepts of morality haven't changed.
