: If Jade is a female Dwarf, I suppose it's conceivable. As
: a race of miers as well as pyromaniacs, Dwarves seem
: like the kind of people who might give someone a name
: or honorific taken from a mineral whose qualities they
: admire, although I'd have thought that Ruby or Topaz
: would sound more Dwarven.
I guess. I've never role-played a Dwarf but they would probably pick something other then Jade.
: But I'm /really/ iffy about calling a deity such a
: mundane name as James. (Of course, it wouldn't be
: mundane to the Mythworlders, who all have names like
: Berel the Unworthy and Turgeis with burning steel, but
: it sounds like it to us.) Judging from Myth's Norse
: imfluences, I think it would probably be reasonable to
: borrow one of the more obscure Aesir and smuggle him
: into Mythworld. Njord, god of the sea, might be a good
: candidate.
I'll look something up...
actually, I think technically Njord is not an Aesir, he's from the other group of Viking gods.
Might make an okay name though for the deity.
