: captured by the forest giants? wtf?
: Interesting...
: not sure about James as a name for a god though or Jade
: as a mortar dwarf
: but that's my oppion
If Jade is a female Dwarf, I suppose it's conceivable. As a race of miers as well as pyromaniacs, Dwarves seem like the kind of people who might give someone a name or honorific taken from a mineral whose qualities they admire, although I'd have thought that Ruby or Topaz would sound more Dwarven.
But I'm /really/ iffy about calling a deity such a mundane name as James. (Of course, it wouldn't be mundane to the Mythworlders, who all have names like Berel the Unworthy and Turgeis with burning steel, but it sounds like it to us.) Judging from Myth's Norse imfluences, I think it would probably be reasonable to borrow one of the more obscure Aesir and smuggle him into Mythworld. Njord, god of the sea, might be a good candidate.
