: Well, I thought the Trow thing up on the spot a couple of
: days ago, and thought the Leveller Cult thing up as I
: typed it. ;)
: I could give you more info, but only if someone (mb a
: group, inc. me (can't do it myself, too many other
: Myth things I want to do) ) was gonna do this, so that
: I'd be all enthusiastic, which is when I get my best
: ideas. :)
Well, we asylum people should be willing to help you.
: Right here (this was also made on the fly :) ) (The story
: is from THIS thread:
: , you can also catch MrVictim's story there and a
: coupla other ones): I had an idea about the evil
: arrived in the Untamed Lands, and now after reading
: MV's idea I think that this is the only way to go. My
: idea was that after aeons of endless infighting a
: powerful warlord has crushed a great part of the east
: under his reign. The crazy sorceror bastard, from the
: Cult of Bahl' al, then rallies his men to avenge their
: god's death. Now, through his conquests he encountered
: lands whose people could no longer be called fully
: human. Their masters were more evil than even he, and
: from them he extracted terrible knowledge, including
: the art of creating gateways to other worlds. Using
: this information he summons into this world a race of
: terrifying night-stalkers. However, the strain is too
: great for him, and he collapses into a death-like
: trance and petrifies, and his creatures are not fully
: summoned, trapped in the dream-world. The warlord's
: right-hand man takes command and entombs the warklord
: until he can be revived. Legend among them tells that
: their god Bahl' al discovered his powers in the far
: and wild west, and that far more powerful spells lie
: hidden. Even ones that could revive their master and
: take his creatures from out of the dream world. The
: new sorceror-lord takes his master's Staff and leads
: an army to conquer the West.
: As they travel, the creatures travel with them, drawing
: their powers from the Staff. And so it is that when
: the armies finally arrive at the furthest borders of
: the Cath Bruig, the find no resistance - only men
: killed in their sleep, drained of blood.
: The armies of the west rally, but though they begin to
: repel the invaders they find that their men are being
: decimated at night. The Avatara recognise what is
: going on, and know that the only way to defeat them is
: to complete the ritual. For that, they need a source
: of the summoner's power. They capture a general in a
: raid, and find out that their options are to steal the
: Staff or find the tomb. The staff is too well guarded,
: and so the Emperor leads a Legion into the East to
: find the tomb. In the meanwhile, all but one of the
: Avatara fall into a permanent Dream in an attempt to
: stall the night killings. As they draw near they see
: the signs of war far in the distance, and are
: assaulted as they enter the ruins of the summoner's
: city. They try to escape from their pursuers, when
: anohter anrmy comes and destroys them. It seems that
: the other eastern tribes resented the warlord and his
: empire, and when he left a bloody war was raged
: against his nation. The Legion tell the easterlings
: that they are enemies of his too and even now their
: main forces are fighting his men, and so a nervous
: alliance is formed. The petrified form of the
: warlord-summoner is found, and his petrified head is
: hacked off. The Avatara leading the Legion then
: vanishes east for a month. Three weeks after he went
: the summoner's body became flesh once more and an
: endless torrent of blood spewed from it, and far in
: the distance a deathly wail went up. His Staff
: shriveled and then fell to dust. When the Avatara
: returns he is old, grey and haggard, and will not
: speak of what happened, other than that. The Legion
: and their new allies now head west.
: When they return they see the lands in ruin. The Avatara
: had been succesful for stavign off the Banshees for a
: time, but were eventually destroyed. But now the
: cretaures are in the real world. The Legion and their
: allies relieve the Siege of Llancarfan, and then
: pursue the easterling host, surrounding them at the
: southern borders of the Plain of Avernus, there
: fighting a titanic two-week long battle until every
: one of the warlord's host is destroyed. Some of the
: army stayed behind though, to battle the Banshees.
: They had learned that the creatures came from a
: night-world and that in the day they persihed. When
: the Legion heard this they were amazed, all apart from
: their Avatara, who merely nodded. He then went to the
: Citadel of Illuan, and when he returned revealed to
: them that whilst travelling in the east he sought out
: fragments of the legendary Sunhammer of Connacht, and
: had indeed found one. Though no longer able to raise
: cities, the Sun Shard did summon the brightness of the
: midday sun when used. However, it could only be used
: once a day. If any Banshee survived, they would have
: to be fought. Using the Sun Shard, they hunted the
: Banshees back into the Darkness. In the last battle
: against them, however, the Shard's light met its
: match. A towering Dark Shadow absorbed all light, and
: the Legion woul have been destroyed had not the
: Avatara plunged the Shard deep into his heart. The
: blood spurted from it like light, and it shone with a
: fire even in the Darkness. His last action was trying
: to place his balde in his heart. Seeing this, the
: Legion dipped their swords in his blood. They glowed
: with Light, and for a time burned like the Sun. They
: fought their way back from despair and crushed the
: Banshee host. However, when the Legion turned on the
: Shadow, it simply laughed, and then vanished, and all
: light with him.
: The day had been won at Avernus, and so too against the
: monsters. But none knew what the Shadow's
: dissapearence held for mankind.
: I know this sounds a bit like Connacht vs Myrks, but
: there you go. And now you already know it all.
: Ah no, THIS I want I want to do myself, and it has a
: couple of twists, so no spoilers. ;)
: Olorin.
Sounds interesting... I think that you would need to work on this with a group to make it.
regarding your RPG I hope that you post it on the Mill or something.
It would be interesting to see how that would work.
