Well, I think that this is because after the Battle of the Red Seal, they realise that they've been evil, want to have no more to do with it or any other evil parties, such as the Leveller, but of course BEFORE the Battle of the Red Seal they didn't care about the other "lesser" races.
I think this not because it fits, but also because I have something non-M3 to back it up with. (After all, I can't say that M3's right because it says so in M3, can I now?) In "Antero's Bestiary" Ewan says:
'"My host seemed rather tense so I halted our interview for the day. Many questions were still unanswered...
"Chiefly, why had he not spoken of the Myrkridia? According to what I remembered of Forgall's text the Myrkridia were active during the Golden Age of the Trow and both had come ino conflict with Connacht.

Seems like a guilty silence to me. It isn't hard to guess the dark secret the Trow are hiding...
