Actually, I was recently thinking how they might also have considered him a figure of great poetic irony. After all, when the Trow negotiate with him in Myth2, arguably the Deciever's greatest weapon is the binding dream: a dream which he almst certainly learned from the manuscripts of the Trow themselves: they used it to enslave the Oghres, and Myrdred was instrumental in breaking this very dream and so brining about the Oghre rebellion.
