: I've always thought of the Watcher's arm as being a fake

: Watcher's clutches to be then attacked from behind by
: Soulblighter. This would have happened if Alric hadn't
: been such a good general. He managed to hold off
: Soulblighter at the Gjol while at the same time,
: strike at the Deceiver. Maybe he doubted the utility
: of the arm so cast spells over the arrows to turn him
: to stone. So, when SB saw that the Watcher was killed,
: and he was delayed, he saw the true power of Alric and
: took his army East to await him at the Great Devoid.

: He knew Alric would defeat Balor as he had seen his
: military prowess so as a last ditch effort he set up a
: trap to stop Alric at the Devoid. He thought Alric
: himself would come to the hole to throw Balor's head
: in so he set up an explosion. In the final release,
: Alric does not come to the Devoid so the explosion
: only has the effect of killing the soldiers sent on
: the mission. The cutscene shows Alric's head flying
: off at the end so this may be reflecting their
: original plan to make the hero throw the head in.

: Hope that made sense, it was written in a rush.

It makes sense for the most part but I'm a little confused.

ummm, Gholbane, do you mean when the Legion got their hands on the arm? That was months before the Gjol, if I remember.

. Maybe he doubted the utility of the arm so cast spells over the arrows to turn him to stone. So, when SB saw that the Watcher was killed, and he was delayed, he saw the true power of Alric and took his army East to await him at the Great Devoid.

the rest from here on out seems to make sense with the dates.
