Also what would you tempt them with to make them corrupt?
They already live centuries.
They have the whole Empire respecting them (Glory.
They don't need money.
They would be like D&D paladins, I think.
But some magic MIGHT be able to turn them.
Play the Year of Burning Stone campaign (On the Mill I think) you fight Heron Guards, turned to the Dark by the Deciever.
But no normal means could convince a Heron Guard to betray the Empire that I can think of.
