Yeah, during his Quest to destroy and bury the Items of Power so that the Dark couldn't have them, he stumbled upon a temple where he learned the Black Arts, and went badder than bad. And mad. I don't think he cared about anything after that ritual mutilation - probably did lose his soul, like Warlocks, but actually lost it. After all, he doesn't care if he dies, so long as the world goes with him. So he wouldn't care about old grudges any more, so long as he could use the krids for his own twisted ends.
Anyone else reckon he found out about the Summoner from the Journal of Myth: TFL? All the evidence seems to point that way...eep.
