Just because everything doesn't match, it doesn't mean they aren't related. Bungie used many sources for Myth and the end product wasn't identical to any of them.
Your argument basically states that Myth isn't related to anything because it's unique. Parts from the WoT time books WERE used as influences for Myth, hence they ARE related. Just because you can find things thta are different, that doesn't detract from the similarities.
