Yes- especially cheese pizza (almost every saturday for 10+ years)
It's both a burst and a cycle, because the burst usually is the high point of the cycle. Mostly it picks up when someone posts an interesting topic, which (I'm guessing) causes people to check the forum more often, make more replies, and post a couple topics of their own. I wasn't around for this, but a couple years back someone (Ducky, I believe) posted a topic called "The State of the Asylum", which basically summed up the Asylum of the time (inactive, mainly). Naturally, the post count exploded, and offhand I'd say that was one of the longest threads on the Asylum (though the myrmidon thread a year or so back got pretty big, too). If you want, check it (them) out with the search feature.
Also, people have cycles in their lives when they play/think/talk about Myth more or less, either because they're busy or because they temporarily lose interest in Myth lore. Eventually the withdrawal gets to them though, and they always come back:P.
