In Response To: Summoner--who is he? (Muhar)

: I have often wondered why such a powerful man as the
: Summoner gets so little mention in the story. I have
: read here on b.org the opinion that Alric will soon
: die, and the age is dark, so my thought is that in the
: level in M2, the Summoner comes back, and did not
: "die". It is not, after all, very easy to
: kill powerful mages forever. Perhaps he will play some
: greater role in M4 (dare we hope). Perhaps also he is
: a reincarnation on Moagim (although that is unlikely
: in Alric is the Moagim-spirit). But the Summoner has a
: lot to do with raising the Myrkridia, and it is not
: clear to me if the humans get rid of them, further
: evidence that the current age as of M2 is going to be
: dark.

: Any thoughts on this?

I think the idea is not so much that the humans got rid of the krids so much as the vast krid armies which were rampaging across the Mythworld are, by the end of the War against Soulblighter, without any kind of unified leadership, and, as such, aren't really a threat against civilisation as a whole. (Although they'd happily rip to pieces and unwalled towns or bands of travellers!)
