In Response To: My perception of Myth III's Leveller *Spoiler* (Zandervix)

: Moagim Reborn IS the Leveller. The cycle says so. Bungie
: said so in the previous games. Therefore it MUST be
: true, regardless of what Myth III says.

I don't think it actually said in clear terms that Moagim was the Leveller. It was GURPS. Now also the info we take in Myth I and II are from lowly soldiers, who wouldn't really know that much about history.

Now recall that Mjarin said that (when he won, You lost) that Connacht and Damas died honorably. This was so none of their supporters would rebel. Even if he said, they were evil and needed to be killed allot of people would kick up anyway.

Same goes with Connacht. The advisor would be very respected kinda guy, with allot of supporters. If Connacht came back and said that he killed Mjarin cos he was an evil SOB, Mjarin's supporters would just think Connacht wanted to be emperor so he got rid of Mjarin. And thus Connacht would have a rebellion on his hands, not good for a new emperor.

So he says that Mjarin died in the battles with Moagim. That way nobody gets miffed, Connacht becomes emperor and everyones happy. Only in the most secretive of Shrines is the truth kept.

When Alric was been interrogated he probably got told Balor about the Head, Connacht would have told Alric that the head was Mjarin, the Leveller. Why, cos he wanted Mjarin to be killed by Alric or cos he was laughing at Alric for trusting the Leveller.

This way Myth III and Myth I and II all make sense between each other and we get a nisce twist in the end of Myth III.
