It's all circumstantial, but somehow, it just "feels right."
My first piece of evidence is that Moagim obviously brought the krids with him when he attacked, and before then, it is possible, even likely, that the Light had never heard of them. ("At the time [Connacht rose to power] the world lived in the long shadow of the Myrkridia," we all know Connacht fought Moagim).
Second, the narrator says "They are nightmare made flesh." This could be just a casual remark... but examine it more closely. Magic in Myth is dreams. These things are nightmares. They are built to kill - fast, strong, horrible-looking, merciless, absolutely no fear, mercy, remorse, or humanity. Your basic biological killing machines. Perhaps these were one of Moagim's dreams... or nightmares.
Third, it is apparent that Krids are not very, er, shall we say "romantic." And I'm not just talking about sex appeal. When the Summoner was killed, Soulblighter's access to the Myrkridia was "cut off." What, cant he make some more the old-fasioned way? I know it would take a few months, but hell, if I were him I'd get the hell out there and start breeding myself a massive army of the things, not throw them all way in the final battles. And can you even IMAGINE a female krid? Gah! Could the male krid even "romance" her without KILLING her? And don't even SUGGEST a hemaphroditic race! I'd just about puke!
Anyway, my point is that these things seem to have been made for one purpose: to kill. Moagim makes them, they dont make each other. That's all I was trying to point out with the above.
Thoughts?
