There's the M2 glossary reference, which just says that The Head caused the Nine's downfall before "vanishing again into the mists of history."
The "Sons of Myrgard" journal entry suggests that The Head's attempt at revolution ended pretty fast; it got a couple of the Nine killed, lost the overall war, and either escaped or crawled (hopped? rolled?) off to die somewhere unnoticed. Either way, it wasn't shown as being around for Alric to deal with after the war's end.
