WHOA.. that's mondo planning. But then again, he's been a head in a box for at least a thousand years. Probably long enough to do some serious thinking:). If the above is true, we can even extend the proposition further.. Alric is used at the patsy to finish off Balor(with the Eblis stone and Myrkridian standard) - and the Head (probably) hoped to win the civil war in the West and then take on Alric after he'd wiped out Balor. Either that, or the head just didn't care about power anymore - just wanted vengeance on Balor.
That might be an interesting idea for Myth 4 - the period between Myth 1 and 2 - Alric vs the Head:)
