Maybe the people of Gower didn't have to stand alone against the dark.After Myrgard was sacked by the Gouls i'd figure some of the Dwarves defending the city could have fled to Gower and aided the kingdom during those 33 years.And remember that Gower survived an entire dark age against hoards of undead and Myrkridia why couldn't they survive for 33 years?
