: I beg to differ. The ghols had more important things to
: do, like tracking down every single remaining dwarf in
: existance and eating them. I don't think the ghols had
: that much beef with Gower. While they do seem to range
: far afield from their lands, it usually seems that the
: further ghols get from the Dark Lords commanding them,
: the more chaotic and tribe-like they become (see that
: Trow level in Myth2). They like to cause destruction,
: but they wouldn't attack Gower if they weren't too
: organized and didn't have a major hatred for it.

Hmm perhaps. But remember the Mauls they wouldn't need a hatred of Gower to attack it with a "Lust for new lands".
And And remeber 33 years is a long time, think about it.
No matter how much Balor didn't care about Gower he still was the Leveller who seeks destruction of all beings and I think he'd send something out to Gower to kill them, if they weren't already slaughtered by the first wave.
Just in case you misunderstand I'm saying that Gower was attacked and most of its population slaughtered but people would have survived but they would not hang around Gower. And even if it wasn't attacked, would you stay in Gower when it was surrounded on ALL sides by Evil Beings hmmmm. If it wasn't destroyed it was definately abandonded.
