In Response To: Llancarfan or Muirthemne? (The Ragnarok)

: Which is the capital of the Cath Bruig empire?
: Throughout Myth 3 it is clearly stated that Llancarfan is
: the seat of the Emperor and the capital city of the
: Cath Bruig empire.
: However in Myth 2 when Alric is crowned king, he declares
: the city Muirthemne, the capital of the Cath Bruig
: empire reborn.
: Still, the Smiths of Muirthemne existed at the time of
: Connaught (given the awesome Dwarf levels in Myth 3)
: and resided inside Llancarfan. So are they two names for
: the same place, or different places entirely?

Myth 2 uses both names in connection with the capital of Connacht's time...and in modern times, it's called Muirthemne while Alric says, "Llancarfan will once more be the seat of the Cath Bruig Empire." GURPS' solution is to have Llancarfan be the old name of the city, which got renamed to Muirthemne sometime before Connacht, while the palace/court itself kept the Llancarfan name to modern TFL times. As I understand (not owning Myth 3), the MJ explananation is similar enough to this to suggest that they were both drawned from original Bungie info, but it's not exactly the same.

Hope that helps...
