: Nope; it speaks or *rejoining* the way of the sword (the
: Heron Guard), implying he was once a Heron before.
But that's in the letter written by the journeyman Four Bear Silent Oak, not by Fenris. Fenris doesn't seem to have ever been a Heron Guard.
: THE Baron is dead. This is just some baron. Or maybe not
: even a Baron, but a similar unit using the same
: sprites.
Okay, I was just making the point that if it is A baron, it isn't necessarily a good one.
: I think so. Nobody got a whiff of our plot, and I suspect
: Badlands has much different ideas from my main plot
: arc in MadJman. Ours didn't have an antagonist; theirs
: is focused on (and named after) the antagonist. Our
: was before TFL, their is after Myth II. And we didn't
: have an enchanted wolf, did we? (Aside from your
: Werewolf Garrick hack).
For our Ermine levels, I had a wolf which sent its astral body out to kill while its real body dreamed. No, I don't REALLY think Badlands copied off us. It's just fun to claim we invented everything.
: That name Fenris sound awfull familiar. Where do I know
: it from?
Fenrir or Fenris was a giant wolf, the son of Loki and Hela, the queen of the Dead in Norse mythology. He's the reason the god Tyr only has one hand. At the end of time he will be killed by the silent god Vidarr with a shoe. Yes, a shoe. I get the feeling all the burning and pillaging the Vikings did was in revenge for everyone laughing about their mythology. Anyway, lots of other wolves in modern stories (as in Dan's post, and Final Fantasy) have been named after him.
