I'd say 20,000 is a fairly optimistic estimate. We never see more than fourty of fifty Myrks at once (a gameplay issue no doubt), but imagine that the population of a city like Madrigal is probably less than 20,000. If there are 20,000 surviving Myrkridia, the original force must've been enormous. Given that five Myrkridia can carve up eight or nine warriors, you've got one hell of a force. An army of 40'000 Myrkridia could probably level the entire Province.
No, I'd guess more in the range of one or two thousand Myrkridia survived. I'd also guess that there were probably as few as 10,000 to start with.
