: just an example... I never read the Tales. Where can I
: get them??? I'm just pointing out that it said in the
: TFL manual anyway that the Oghre were exterminated.
: But it also says that they were lesser cousins of the
: Trow, which really REALLY messes up a lot of story
: things... which is why I'm formulating my other theory
: :)
There's a link somewhere about… root around in Legends and Lore or the Misc sections of b.org
: I think it would be cooler if they were the same myself,
: just because they were supposed to be as diverse as
: humanity (hence my Maul are to Oghre as Myrmidon are
: to Human theory) and fighting alongside giant archers
: would be fun as hell!
Bah, I dinna think I'd be cooler and that's where the conflict lies ;). Also Maul to Oghre as Myrmidon to Human theory wouldn't really hold up too well. Myrmidons _are_ human, they're just a different people, like the berzerks are to the Bruig or the Bruig to the people of the Province. Different culture, different looks, same stock. The maul and Oghre, no matter how you slice it are different. They could be cousin races, a more evolved version of one or the other, but brothers they are not.
Also, being like humans does not meant hey are identical to humans. I think M3 meant by that analogy that the Oghre had complex civilizations, magic and conventional weaponry, but not mimicking that of the humans. Perhaps they uses javelins, slings or just really big sticks… ;)
