They were held into servitude by a dream, and freed by one in Myth 3. Why do you think none tried to escape anyway, especially when youy consider how much a Trow Iron Warrior would have to pant after catching up wit those fellers!
Anyway, most people consider the holocaust a genocide; if it is or not is besides the point. It all depends on society's definition not the dictionary. And because society now generally considers the holocaust a genocide, perhaps to the Myth society that was genocide.
Anyway, Bungie obviously doesnt agree with you (according to Fear), because their ORIGIONAL plot included Oghre surviving, and the MJ plot includes a Maul-like Oghre. Put two and two together.
