: lubber means "clumsy person".

I always presumed that that was an abbreviation of "landlubber," as "land clumsy person" didn't really make sense as a meaning for the latter. :-) But now I see that "lubber" is apparently the earlier word. My dictionary says its origin is only a guess, but I had no idea it was even in doubt. Strange.

I'm not a well-educated pirate, apparently. Arrh, bitch.
